In a world dominated by hyperscalers, the internet is changing. The old-school principles of a decentralized web, where individuals and small teams ran their own mail servers and websites, feel like a distant memory. We think that’s a problem. We miss the days when the internet was a place of independence, freedom, and raw power for everyone, not just big tech.
That’s why in 2022, we decided to do things differently. Our founding team of three Dutchmen and a Dane brought together decades of combined expertise to build an infrastructure company that could break down barriers. We wanted to build something that felt more personal, more transparent, and more empowering for the user.
Why Serverbear?
The name started as a nod to our mother company, Cloudbear, but it quickly took on a life of its own. For one, two of our founders are, well, rather tall and bear-like figures! But more importantly, the bear perfectly represents our philosophy. We admire its calm demeanor, but also its relentless and undeniable power. That’s how we approach our work: with a calm, steady hand, we build powerful, reliable infrastructure that you can depend on.
To give you the best hardware and infrastructure, we either build it ourselves or work with select partners who meet our high standards. Our own infrastructure is built on high-quality Nokia and Arista hardware, located in two distinct availability zones in the heart of the Brainport region, Eindhoven. We leverage our larger contracts and partnerships to get great prices, and we pass those savings on to you. Our goal is to give back to the community, helping our customers thrive by offering amazing products at affordable prices.
No-Nonsense Support
What we can control, we support with everything we’ve got. Our Dutch and Danish heritage means we’re direct and honest. We don’t like fluffy, corporate-speak. As we say in Dutch, we won’t send you “van het kastje naar de muur” (from the cupboard to the wall), which describes the frustrating journey of being passed from one person to another.
When you have a problem, we’ll get straight to the point, check your systems, and help you where we can. It’s a straightforward, no-nonsense approach.
